Born again Saint
Be born again and praise the lord until you faint
Until you re-taint the land upon which you promised to never lose
faith
And re-break the heart which you swore to never again break
Taint me until I break
Born again Saint
The church offers no sanctuary to those who offer no faith
You may enter a confession, but it will not wait for those who hesitate
Who hesitate to destroy the oath a Priest once made you take
For kids who thought religion was something they could fake
For those who never had faith
Born again Saint
A demeanor so bold as to challenge every rule a father could make
Veins so cold the needles found it harder and harder to penetrate
To penetrate the mind is to penetrate the soul
Enough to crush the dreams of a child who was once so bold
Too bold to realize what it would take to get it straight
To never see another smile on that once beautiful face
Born again Saint
Alone, dusting off the memories, hoping for the rain clouds to dissipate
That your dreams will return and the light of the sun will rehabilitate
Until you can forget your past and let new memories flood the gate
Until you learn once more to share a smile and to give thanks
Until you forgive a father who never listened to a child's ache
Until a father learns that it is never to late to have faith
Born again Saint
Sometimes you have to wonder if this was all fate
If a loving heart breaks merely to test ones strength
But who cares if dreams and gods all meet in the same place
If dreams and gods only exist to bring hate
To mangle our beliefs and to strip away our faith
And attempt to make us all
Born again Saints
