A Somebody’s Nobody

How does any person describe ones’ self?
By pushing the candy coated lie of who we are?
By favoring the statistics that we don’t know?
Me,
I Am but a man.
But I’ve used that one before.
Faded memories of the friends I no longer see.
Our bonds broken by time.
Our time lost within our self.
Life has its moments.
But those moments are few and far between.
Nothing left but meaningless self-indulgences.
Loud music hurts the ears.
Only a nobody knows
the embarrassment of being a somebody.
Because they stay a nobody
until somebody mocks them.
But mocking me makes me welcomed.
A somebody’s curse.
My time spent upon myself.
My thoughts are my own.
Loneliness brings me happiness,
but happiness comes with a high price.
A somebody’s nobody.
A nobody’s curse.
